What I’m workin on… Spring cleaning

Where in the world did April go?  Is it a blur like it was for me.  Well with my good friends wedding taking up a whole wonderful weekend this month the rest of it just flew by.  I wanted to share with you all what I’m working on around here so you all don’t think why is nothing getting done.  Spring cleaning is in full effect around here.  There’s progress it’s just been a little slow.  Now with the beautiful spring weather on the horizon I hope to get a lot more done.

What I’m working on – spring cleaning

In the Living room

If you follow me on my instagram then you already know.  The living room got a fresh coat of paint courtesy of my local Sherwin Williams.  I went from a light gray called Jubilee to a much richer gray called Steely Gray.

I took down my living room ledges so I could paint the wall behind them.  I’m now considering painting them to match the faux fireplace I’m creating over the brick wall wallpaper.  Lot’s of exciting stuff coming up soon.

In my black bedroom.

Some of the things I like to do to spring clean are take down and wash the curtains.  I almost always treat myself to a new comforter set for my bed.  I try hard to only have at the very least 3 sets so when I go over this number it’s time to donate a set to my local Goodwill  I love to rearrange a room at any time of the year so spring is no exception.  I will usually move my bed closer to the windows in spring so I can feel the breeze when it’s nice enough out to leave them open.  Until it’s AC season and then I will move my bed away from it so I can warm up.

In the kitchen.

I like to clean out my condiments storage area.  Be sure to check the dates for anything expired or expiring soon.  I also do a massive clean out of my freezer, fridge and stove.  Getting it ready for summer parties is a must.  I love to be able to tell my guest just help yourself.  And you can’t do that if you haven’t cleaned out those area’s.

In the guest room

Where my lovely and wonderful niece is living got a fresh new look.  I’m just about done wallpapering and can’t wait to show you where it went.  Wall paper is not just for wall’s you know.  Think outside the box.

In my yard

The pallet garden has been cleaned out and repotted for this year.  The gladiolus bulbs which I picked up at my local Dollar Tree are starting to bloom.  Flowers I think are about a month away and I just can’t wait to see these beauties bloom.  There’s about 20 stalks already growing and I might just add some more now so that those will bloom after these babies have already withered.  Pretty smart thinking right?

We added a privacy fencing around one side of the yard that was facing 3 different buildings.  Don’t you think it makes the yard look so much better now.

And that folks is what I’m working on around here.  Stay tuned to see some progress threw out this month.
