Transformed Treasures Tuesdays no 5

Hello it’s Transformed Treasures Tuesdays no 5 thanks so much for stopping by.   I’ve mentioned before how my daughter J has a baby on board.  And I should you a peek into her pregnancy photo shoot, which was a blast.  I even showed you how I had thrift-ed some props for the shoot.  Well this week the baby shower is fast approaching.  And I have been a hunt for some bookcases to use at the shower for props.  I added a note to the invite requesting that people bring there favorite book to give to baby in order to start his library.  My daughter is an avid reader and we hope this will be passed to her soon to be son.

So I have hit every thrift shop in my area and nada zippo zilch.  And then this week my daughter has started nesting.  J and her boyfriend have decided to move in with me as my apt is a 3 bedroom.  She started to empty out my craft room and low and behold 2 perfectly small bookcases come out of the room.  So I right away got to painting them white.  Love Annie Sloan pure white.  It’s just a awesome crisp white.…-tuesdays-no-5.htmTransformed Treasures Tuesday no 5

How funny is it that I already had what I was looking for.

1bookcasebeforeOh and I totally forgot to get a before on the other bookcase I’m sorry.  It’s been a crazy week.

But I did find some old photos of these two bookcases in use in the formally known as craft room.  Now to be a baby nursery.

Yes with all the stuff in that room it’s little wonder I didn’t know what I had.  I’m off to move more of that stuff outta there.  As a baby is fast approaching.

Lesson learned look threw my own stash first.

  3. It’s fabulous when you find you already own what you need and all it needs is some love ( and usually paint) to be made into a fabulous new item. I’ve been having a great time raiding my parents sheds for treasures for my own nursery 🙂
