the social room
Here’s a little story of how I came to have a social room. In this apartment I have conjoined living spaces. I supposed one should be a dining room and the other a living room. But what should be the living room is not a right fit for my L shaped couch. So what should be the dining room is a much better fit to make into my living room. And I’ve decided to turn the other room into the are your ready for it?
Like a couple of the awesome rooms in this new apartment there is a set of bay windows in this room. I love the light that streams in this apartment and I’m sure my plants will too. It’s pretty cool that the plants will be able to live happily in more then one room in this apartment. So even though you see them in this room don’t be expecting it to always be this way. If you have been following me for any time at all you know I love change.
This room is where my turned around bar is located. It has the soon to be most outstanding and glittery (huge hint) fireplace mantle. My little urban jungle enjoys spending time by the beautiful four bay windows in this room. My white milk glass collection has made itself at home here as well. And would you believe there is still room to get social in this space.
One of the thrifty finds from last year I’ve been holding onto is a portable poker table. I’m looking forward to hosting a poker night some time soon. And breaking in this table which was an awesome garage sale $5 find. And it was brand new never used.

Another of my social traditions I plan on reviving this year is my “Stock my bar party”. It’s my version of a house warming party only I don’t need housewares but I could always use more liquor. Right? I’m pretty lucky to have the kind of friends who don’t mind a party with a theme. I’ve shared here before how much of a hit this party has been. See my Stock my bar party I
And the Stock my bar party II
So now it’s onto planning party number III. I think I’ll throw a little twist in the theme and make my friends find some pretty bottles. Maybe with a prize for the most outstanding bottle.
