the new home

The new home for us is my honey’s house.  It’s a one family home in need of repair and a lot of TLC.  As we combine our family and learn to live together again, you can still follow along and see how I do it.  I will stick to my thrifty décor and show you all how to transform old treasures into a better versions that I at least love.  If you have been following me then you might have already seen what I’m working on part I & part II.  There are lot’s of projects in the works and now that the apartment is gone I can focus on just one home.  If you follow me on Instagram you have already seen some pics of the place.

The new home

Kitchen goes from blue & yellow to black & white

Living room – was in need of paint and thanks to my good friend Ja we got the walls all painted white.  After having painted the kitchen ceiling I asked the honey to hire someone to do living room ceiling which got done the day before thanksgiving.  Ceilings are hard hard work now I know there not for me.

Our bedroom – the hole in the wall has now been sealed.  The room has gone from boring beige to a wonderful dark grey.  If you think it looks a lot like the bedroom color I had in the apartment your right.  It was completely unintentional I had the honey pick out the color.

Projects still in the works

Front hallway – We still need to figure out how to get my king size mattress up the stairs.  Then this hall will get a new ceiling and some paint.  That project will have to be done by a handy man as I stated above ceilings are just not for me.

Closet – It’s an extra bedroom turned catch all closet.  This poor room has become the dumping ground for everything that has not found a spot in the home yet… Thank God for doors hee hee

Now just because I am now working on a house, please don’t think that there will not be useful tips if you live in an apartment.  This whole house thing is new to me and I am bringing my apartment décor ways with me.  I also hope to be helping my daughter find her apartment soon and she will hopefully need my décor advise.

 Stay tunned… xoxo  ARod

  4. Wow..those are some really nice transformations you’ve done. I really love the grey color you choose. My husband wants to use a grey color in our house. I wish you lived closer to me to bring some of this talent into fixing up my home.

I love the grey color in the bedroom. Some years ago I did my living room in grey and cranberry with platinum trim – I loved it.
