New Apartment goals 2018

Did you see my post over on Live The Allie Way ?  It’s all about this new apartment goals for 2018.  As the beginning of February is here it is time to adjust these goals.  January was just too short a month to get the goal I set for it met.  I had wanted to or hoped to get 3 rooms painted this month.  And I didn’t facture in the time it takes to get Christmas put away.  Especially considering I don’t start to put it away till after the feast of the Epiphany on January 6th.  So by about the 10th  I had everything sorted and back in their respective containers only to realize since I moved in in November I had left no storage space for all of my Christmas containers.  So time to re-rearrange my craft room.  I had to make room for Christmas to fit into this closet.

So before I knew it half the month was gone and I’d yet to even pick out a paint color.  Never mind the actual process of starting to paint.  I am happy to report that I did get my butt in gear and over to my local Sherwin Williams store and picked out some paint.  The clerk was a sweat lady who wanted me to take home some sample paint containers.  I politely responded I wish I worked that way.  I just can’t paint little swatches on a wall and decide.  I’m the type of person who has to paint a wall and sometime even the whole room before I yay or nay a paint color.

Luckily for me I love to paint, it energizes me and makes me feel mighty when I get a room painted.  Not including ceilings oh vay I hope to never in my life have to paint another ceiling.  So with my beautiful gallon of paint I headed home.  My process for painting a room that is already in use is simple.  One wall at a time.  I like to move furniture or plants over to the other side of the room and get a wall painted from top to bottom.  And then move whatever furniture goes there back and get to work on the next wall.  I find this way I can get a room painted within a week.  This also includes sometimes taking a day off to just do nothing or whatever else life throws at me.

So here is a look at the plan I had made back in December.
