What I’m working on a June room makeover challenge

Do you follow Serena of ThriftDiving.com.  I love her and her 30 day challenges.  Well now she is running a June room makeover challenge.  So I thought to my self heck yeah I want to try it.  I love the idea of a room being complete in one month.  Because when I start a project ending it is anybodies guess.  I tend to procrastinate so I need a deadline.  And if I don’t complete it in time, I will at least have tried.  How awesome would it be to see a room done in one month.  And be done with it.  It’s definitely worth a try.  I will now show you some ugly before pictures and please remember I just moved into this apartment beginning of April.  This room is clearly the catch all as you all will all soon see.

It’s a long narrow room.  See it all looks like a lot of junk right now.  It’s definitely a lot of boxes still to be unpacked.  Like I said before this room has become the catch all.

My first step will be to paint.  I’m not a fan of red walls if you have been following me for awhile you saw that when I turned the red walls in my new bedroom black.  I’m a huge fan of black.  Not to worry I’m not considering making this room black.  I’m thinking since it small and narrow to keep it light and bright.

I’m going to work with whatever I already have on hand to keep the expenses low.  If you remember in my last apartment I had a nice walk in closet I called closet II.  So I will be enlisting my amazing friend Chino to re-work the system I already have, and make it fit in this room.

So that is what I’m working on around here.  What are you up to?

You are so right when you say a room does not get finished. We work best under pressure around our house so a challenge would be good. Can’t wait to see what paint color you pick and how it turns out.

I love the idea of a craft room. I definitely new one in my life. Opening my craft closet is becoming a hazard. Lol.

Great idea about the 30 day challenge. I think I’m going to work on my son’s room/playroom. I want to make it a more inviting space and way less cluttered. Good luck with yours and can’t wait to see how it turns out.
