June makeover room challenge ends

Yes folks we are in July but the June makeover room challenge ends today.  I had joined Serena from ThriftDiving.com in this  6 week June challenge.  I decided to take on my extra room which at the time was only a junk room full of boxes.  And make it into my closet III & craft/project room.  Although I did not complete the mission in the time allotted.  I am quiet happy to report that allot of progress was accomplished.  It’s a heck of start for this room.  It also got my black bedroom in gear as some pieces came out of there and into this room.  I am on a serious hunt for bookcases which will help to complete this craft/project part of the room.  But now let me show you what did get done.

Here’s how the room started out.

In my first update I told you all how the closet III came together.  If you click on the picture below it will take you to that update.

In the second update I showed you all how the craft side of the room got started .  Click on the picture for that update.

Today I saw this in my instagram as I was writing up this post.  I think it’s most fitting.

Although the room is not complete it is well under way.  I have a plan for it.  I was able to get it all painted.  And now it’s just a matter of adding to it.  It is down to a hand full of boxes as opposed to be over run with them like it started.

So here is what it looks like at the end of this challenge.

When you walk into the room your in the right side which is Closet III.  I’ve moved this dresser from my bedroom that will get it’s revamp soon into this room .  Also the shoe storage unit that was in my bedroom has now found it’s new home here.  I can’t wait till I’m done with the other side so that I will actually be able to use this closet part as a closet.  Right now it’s jam packed with the stuff that will need to get placed into the craft/project part of the room.

The craft/project side of the room needs some bookcases or some sort of shelving units.  So I can unpack whats left in boxes.  I would love to have all my paints on shelves as opposed to crates which is how I have them now in the middle of my living room.

And that folks is how the June makeover room challenge ends.  I didn’t end up with a greatly done room to show you all.  But I did get allot done.  And I’m happy with it thus far.

As soon as I find the right storage unit for this room it will all come together.  The hunt is on…

You made a big difference and that’s a great place to start! You’ll get the end room you want I’m sure. I’m discovering (as we move) that cleaning out the clutter is the biggest step! I can’t wait to see how it continues to come together.
