Happy New Year 2015

2015 I hope to make a happy new year.  If I learned anything in 2014 is that change is inevitable.  Things change and it can be scary and it can be stressful.  But it can also be new and exciting.  It opens up new possibilities you sometimes didn’t know existed.  At the beginning of 2014 I had no idea how this year would change me & our family.  We got a wonderful new addition.  My grandson is the shinning light of my 2014.  Although I was never expecting to become a grandma so soon, I’ve really taken to this new title in my life.  I’ve gained a new awe of my mom, I hope to be even half the grandmother she is.

Happy New Year. We always celebrate at the beach; watch the old year go out and new come in!

We moved from our apartment to a house.  Yes it’s a very big change.  I still don’t really feel like it has sunk in.  Letting go of my apartment was a very big change for me.  This house does not feel like home, but I know that will come in time.  It was just 4 short years ago when I moved into my apartment and that didn’t feel like home.  So I’m sure with time I will make this house into a home.  This little guy has already brought so much joy to our home.  I know that as he grows and changes so will this house.

He tried to wait for midnight as he was dressed for it.  But as babies will do he just tuckered out…

I thought I would share with you all some of my plans/goals for this happy new year.  It helps to write it down and put it out there…I find it helps to make it so.

  • NAME CHANGE – this is something I’ve considered as I’m not in an apartment.  But have decided to put on hold for at least 6 months.  After all I still have the knack for apartment décor, as that is all I’ve ever had till now.  I plan on using everything I’ve previously done in my apartments in this house.
  • BLOG CONSISTENTLY – I plan on posting at least 4/5 times a week up from 3 x last year.  Hope you all want to hear from me more.
  • BLOG CONFERENCE – I’m hoping to make it to HAVEN this year.  If not then at least some other conference so that I can continue to grow my blog.
  • GUEST POSTING – I will try to get out there and guest post on other blogs.
    • as well as having other bloggers guest post here – if interested email me arodblog@Hotmail.com
    • I want to do a series of readers inspired projects THAT MEANS YOU if I or some other blogger has inspired you to go get your DIY on send me before and after pictures I will feature you.

    • I’ve joined Serena at Thrift Diving for her 30 day 1 room challenge I plan on taking on our master bedroom.  This will entail a accent wall, new to us nightstands and more.
    • Front hall entryway – this needs a new ceiling {which we will be hiring out for} as well as a coat of paint.  I’ve already thrifted some awesome wall hooks that will go here.
    • I want to add a LOVE WALL to this house.  (if you click on LOVE WALL you can see the one I had in the apartment.)  I think it’s awesome inspiration to maybe get us thinking about wedding.
    • Upstairs hall – needs flooring
    • Stairways – I have also already started this I’m sanding them.  Which yes does cause lot’s of mess and needs to be done when baby is not home.  So this is a slow project I hope to have completed by Feb.
    • my blogging area – it’s started but needs improvements
    • stairway walls – once I’ve finished stairs it will be time to think of some way to juzzzzzzzzz up those walls.
    • Guest room – My daughter & grandson are currently staying with us, but once there gone this room will need an overhaul new rugs, paint etc.
    • China Hutch – I thrifted this piece back in Sept so hope to give it a new look now.
  • MAY
    • Man cave – The honey is bent on getting a man cave for himself in the basement.  I hope to make it look decent if I can get in.  lol
    • Front & backyard work will start
  • JUNE
    • pool – we want one so might as well plan for it!!
    • closet room – It’s an extra bedroom turned kinda junk room closet collect all so this will need a revamp.

Well that is my plan/goals for at the lest the first 6 months of this year.

I better get to work…
