confession I’m a lazy DIYer

Yes this is my confession I’m a lazy DIYer.  DIY stands for do it yourself right well I must confess that I don’t usually do it myself.  I get lots of help from my amazing friends.  I told you about some of them yesterday.  Since about 2010 I’ve become a collector of tools among plenty of other things.  I ask for them as gifts for Christmas and my birthday.  I have a drill, sander, even a nail gun but if I’m being honest.  Which I am trying to be in this post.  I’ve yet to open my nail gun box and I got it last Christmas I’m talking 2012 not 2013 people.  I guess my friends have not found a need for it yet.  You see I have all these tools so when I ask a friend to come help me with a project we already have the tools.

Now I did share on my instagram how my friend Chino brought over his own tools.

Now he did that cause I don’t have an impact driver.  It’s on my wish list for my July birthday.  Hint hint universe.  So Chino won’t have to carry his bag and will have one handy already here.  lol

Don’t get me wrong I do sometimes use my own tools.  I will hang a nail and frame in a minute.  But when it comes to bigger projects I am just lazy I guess.  I have a stud finder but can’t figure it out.  I have the nail gun but haven’t opened the box.

On the other hand I will paint anything like nobody’s business.  With little or no help I will paint a room or any furniture piece.   I will add a stencil or design.  I will also confess that after I did the black & white kitchen I have sworn off ceilings.  Boy oh boy are they hard work.  lol

Here’s a sneak peek at what all my friend got done this weekend.

Living room ledges which he had previously hung for me in my old apt.  My fantel which again he had previously hung for me.  And a mirror in the bedroom I don’t like to hang it myself as I’m not certain where to find studs and wouldn’t want it falling and crashing.  7 years of bad luck no one needs right.

So yes I’m a lazy DIYer, but thanks to my amazing friends I get stuff done.  Thanks to my amazing friends things get done around here.  And now I have plenty to show you all.

lol I can relate Anj. I can get lazy at times too I think we all do. I love having tools too, but as soon as I get them I rip the box open and use any excuse to use them. Great post made me LOL.

Fun post Anj! Nail guns are kind of fun to do. Tim may be teaching me to weld this year if we get time. You’re a DIY guru with painting so not too lazy of a DIYer.

I am right there with ya girlie! Maybe we need a support group? LOL What ever gets the job done! Right?

  4. I need some friends like yours! I don’t consider myself a DIYer, but my husband and I recently installed our own dishwasher and garbage disposal. That’s mostly because we’re cheap, not handy. Fortunately, nothing’s leaking and everything seems to be working 🙂

Lol, I’d say just a smart genius! You use your talents and you’re good at delegating tasks to your friends to use their talents!

I am not a DIYer at all. I would MUCH rather pay someone else to do it – it’s totally worth it to me.

  7. I wouldn’t call you lazy, just smart. Enlisting the help of friends makes for a great day and having a second set of eyes and muscles never hurts either.

I can relate a million times over, but I can one up you because I don’t even attempt it or get the tools! I wish that I was handy and crafty enough to follow all the beautiful tutorials I see on Pinterest, but I just can’t do it!

  9. I am too! Very lazy! I wish I was not like that but hey!!

Hey! I think whatever gets the ledge hung works! It sounds like you’ve got it all figured out.

  11. Oh I love those ledges! Hubs is so lazy that I can’t ask him to do anything for me.

I’ve been trying to become more of a DIYer but I keep getting distracted! You’re lucky that you have friends that will do it for you cause the ledges look amazing!

You have some really generous friends for sure. At least you think of them and try to have the tools they need LOL.

I’m a lazy DIY-er, too! My husband is not, though, so it works for me! 😉

I’m no Martha, and my other half hates working around the house. How nice it is to have great friends to help!

Ha – Ha this is awesome! I have lots of help when I do projects too! Hubby is so good to jump on board and make my DIY’s happen 🙂

I wish I was more into DIY, but I seem to hire people for projects or get family to help!
