CoCo’s revamped furniture 2 doggie bed

My CoCo now has his furniture 2 doggie bed done.  Did you see my Trading blogs post?? over the last weekend?? go here K&D are awesome and they have this beautiful puppy Willow,  well when we got partnered for the trading blogs I got inspired by Willow to make a furniture 2 doggy bed for Coco which I’d been meaning to do, but hadn’t gotten around too….. And I was not able to finish it in time to share on the Trading Blogs but its rett to go now.

I headed out thrifting see my finds here –  in keeping with my realitvely new motto to reuse/refurbish/remodel/ recycle

why do I need to reinvent the wheel – I was going to get old pallets and try and make into platform for a bed but then came across these great pieces of furniture that needed a new life

furniture 2 doggy bed 2

option 1 was nice but a little too little and then I saw option 2 and it was love at first sight the price $4.99 oh yeah TRUE LOVE lol

so it came home with me and didn’t even make it in the door before it got it’s transformation.  As it was a beautiful spring afternoon on the way home we stopped by Lowes and picked up the primer & paint both spray paints – this is going to be my easiest remake ever….

the before pink & beige – not my favorite color at all

Primer goes on & dries in maybe 20 min tops

textured spray paint

then the paint its….”Valspar textured ^see^” I have a thing for speckled sprays I’ve had this in every apt I’ve had in one form or another

I figured this color would hide CoCo hair 😉

Here’s where it’s going to live in my bedroom next to TV cabinet (which is getting makeover next)
furniture 2 doggy bed 3
Ta DAH!! the (cheating) AFTER see the curtain I got here I’m going to remake into the cover but this was just a test run of how it would look  – curtain is waiting in line for it’s makeover
furniture 2 doggy bed 4
the real after is this  – his bed with the quilt he was allowed to sleep on (used to be at the foot of my bed) I used this to bribe the dogie to come up onto his bed

totally worked see below

Oh almost forgot I added wheel’s oh yeah!!!
DSCN0057
of coarse this took a little longer than expected as drill was not charged and the charger went missing just when I needed it ugh..
DSCN0058
so I used the good ole fashioned screw driver & my “Borrowed Bestie” will have to come and tighten them later but for now

TA DAH!!!

DSCN0060
oh yeah another + is the toy storage oh yeah!!

the reason behind the wheels is this look at his face below he is used to sleeping at the foot of my bed doesn’t it look like he is thinking “Um ma this is lil far from you”
DSCN0073
Well I think that’s what he is thinking so I moved the spare coffee table (who doesn’t keep a spare coffee table??)
DSCN0074
See how he is looking at my bed this won’t do!!
Sooooo much better now hee hee (the reason its on wheel’s )

    Stopping by from Blog Hop!

That’s a wonderful idea. I’m an interior designer and I can respect DIY projects. That’s what my company is all about – taking things they already own and reusing the pieces.

    Great idea and great job!
