It took me quite the lil while {like 6 months} to finish this project I’m totally in love with it now but it was just one of those projects where I just didn’t see the end in site.  ughhhhh lolI knew it would be black & white but how it got to finish was a long long process see here
In January

I didn’t take into account the negative space the tape would leave.

And when I tried a stencil it, it began to look to cluttered to me I think the stenciling would have made the table look way too busy (so the stencil got left for a future project that reminds me I’ll have to pull them out and use them).
So after that minor fail I scrubbed off the silver paint.
I used Martha Stewarts Metallic Paint in Polished Silver & Golden Pearl
I decided I liked lines and boxes it was repetitive but not busy. Right?
Can you see what I see?? lol
In February the lines started……IMG_0059

jan 2012 projects II 053
PicMonkey Collage silverlinesgoldboxes
and continued thru end of April maybe some of May I just kept tweeking the lines lol
and then last week in May /first wk of June I finished it…..
I did the last 3 coats of Minwax Polyurethane Clear gloss to cover & seal the gold & silver as well as shine up the whole thing.
I’m loving it….
