Challenge accepted Bedroom let’s rock

I’ve joined Serena at Thrift Diving for her The 30-Day “Junk-Free” January Room Challenge!
I’ve decided challenge accepted bedroom let’s rock.  Since the move we are trying hard to mesh our lives together in this house. My love received from it from his parents so with it came some pieces of furniture that he’s fondly attached too. All over this place we are trying to make it work for our family now. I want this room to be a sanctuary for us. For him to rest, for me to love. I plan on doing each step of this project on his work days so he wont really notice. He’ll walk  in say hmmm you changed something oh that ok. Which he is so used too living with me. And by the end of the 30 days have a whole new to us room we will both love.  I’ve seen some of Serena’s previous challenges and they seemed like so much work but how fun is it to know that in 30 {if not a little more} you will love at least this one room.  And why not make a room you use everyday.

My collection of frames needs to be out of this room.  Coco’s doggie bed needs a revamp.  Is that a box spring?  yes  Are we currently sleeping on the floor?  no  We have his parents old bed in there see below.  My new bed is downstairs in the entry hallway.  lol I’m not kidding.

The closet which is just for me.  I did downsize from a walkin closet room to this.  Will needs some work to make it more organized.

Here’s a look at the rest of the room in my before pictures

And you might say well it’s not so bad.  But a bedroom should be your sanctuary.  In order to be that for me here’s all I see really really needs fixing.

You might wonder why start with this room it’s not so bad.  I think sometime bedrooms just become a catch all for stuff and you think I’ll leave this room as only I see it really.  Well I say why not start with what should be your comfort room.  Why not make this room the best it can be so later in years when working on other projects and the house looks messy and sad.  There is a room to come escape too.  A sanctuary to rest in.

My week 1 plan – get some cargo straps to fold my new mattress and get it up the stairs and into this room.  Start work on interior of closet.  Start search for bedside tables I want to find, revamp & replace in this room

I better get to work…

Stay tunned…xoxo Arod

ps – see my Links party page for where I party & share my projects

Amazing, love this 30 day challenge you are doing and will enjoy watching the progress. I am interested to see how you do the closet.

thanks Sue I’m crossing my fingers I get it done in time. The closet won’t really get too much for change but I am hoping to add shelf to top & bottom to get extra storage. Then there is the closet doors to think about those obviously need a change. lol
