On My Mind Monday – baseball baby shower

I’ve shared some peeks into the baseball baby shower I threw for my soon to be first grandson.  And here are all the details of how I put this party together on a budget.  I started with finding a hall.  As I was unsure about the weather I could not take the chance of rain so I didn’t got with a backyard BBQ like I had previously done when J graduated.  So we went with a American Legion Post which are affordable.  And here’s how with mostly dollar store stuff I put it all together.

I had thrifted lots of props for her maternity baseball photo shoot.  And of coarse used these all around the party.

Remember these two bookcases I told you all about on Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 5.  bookcaseswhitebabyshower

Well here is how I set them up by the door to set up a little library for the baby.  All guest were asked to bring there favorite book and make sure to sign it for Damon.  His mom is an avid reader and hopes to pass this love of books on to her son.  bookcasesbabyshowermmah

I used some of my white milk glass collection to set up a chocolate/fruit & candy display.  The only thing purchased for this display are the huge glass jars but we went to Micheal’s and used a 50% off coupon on each of these.  😉

For the tables I used white table 99 cent store plastic tablecloths.  And just used a thick red marker to draw the baseball lines.  I added peanuts, popcorn & crackerjacks to each table.

The diaper cake made for J by a very good friend who is not at all crafty turned out pretty dam awesome.  damonthomasshowerdiapercake

The actual deserts cupcake booties were also a gift from a good friend who loves to bake.  It definitely helps keep cost down when you have good friends who help.  Thanks Sue & Gail {although neither reads my blog lol}.

And here is a peek at our new family all together.
