Accent walls NY Apt entryway

I love the dramatic effect of accent walls.  I have more than a few in my apt.  Which I’ve showed to you all here accent wall/walls.  A very good friend and ex co worker from my time at Amex asked if I would help her bring some pizzazz to her place.  She lives in a NY apt which she happily owns so can do anything to her walls her heart desires.  She has lived in her apt with bare white walls for 3 years and has decided to jazz up the place.   Luckily she fell totally in love with my hair brained idea and here’s how I created for her

I did this over a 3 weekend period a few months ago before my life got so crazy with my new grandson.

I started by giving the white walls a fresh coat of white paint.  I waited for it to dry and started my tape off.  I think that part took the longest, although I did do 3 coats of the MS gold paint. Might go with a different gold paint if I tried to recreate.  I love the shimmer it gives in the light and don’t think the pictures do it justice.

Apollo my supervisor and fast friend and assistant was by my side throughout this job.  I couldn’t have done it without him.

We had a great ole time hanging out together.  And I can’t wait to work with him again on future projects.  😉

At this point I was totally in love.  I made sure to remove tape while paint wet and very slowly and carefully.  So as to avoid touch up work.  I think it looks pretty dam stunning.
