Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 11 Desk revamp

Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 11 Desk revamp

Time for Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 11.  I’ve been moving this desk around my apartment for about a year now.  In hopes I would find the perfect spot for it.  Sadly it was not meant to be although I loved it, it was to long for my space. I could not find the right fit for it in my apartment.  I tried to fit in several rooms to no avail.  Coincidentally my good friend Jamille was looking for an extra long desk for her apartment.  She is the awesome photographer jamillecostaphotography.com  I’ve worked with several times & a great friend.  She thought an extra long desk was needed for her to set up her multiple laptops.  In order to get more work done on her photo editing.  She wanted to set up a dedicated space for this and her guest room seems just the spot.  I had already stained and painted bottom of desk in Annie sloan old white and minwax Jacobean, when she spotted it and asked if we could give it a little color. So this desk got an extra pop of color from the left over blue I used in my new grandson’s room.  I think it gave it just enough jazz.

Thrift Share Thursday no 18

Thrift Share Thursday no 18

It’s Thursday time for Thrift Share Thursday no 18.  It’s a scrapbooks/photo albums stash share.  I’m always on the lookout for both scrapbooks & photo albums since I am a huge picture taker.  And I do print them.  I’ve showed you all before the stack of picture boxes I keep in my bedroom bookcase.  But keeping pictures in boxes is not a great way to show them off.  Scrap-booking & photo albums make it so much easier to show friends your pictures.  You know in every family there is that one person you can go to find family pictures.  I am hoping to become that person for my family.  Just last month my niece who is now living in California gave me a call to find her some pictures of herself as a baby with her mom.  So I think I’m well on the way to be the family photo hog.  lol I think I’m getting side tracked here.  Let’s see what I picked up at the thrift shop.

Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 10

Transformed Treasures Tuesday no 10.  It’s a dresser that was just sitting in a corner of my honey’s house.  I mentioned to him that J was in need of a dresser and he said just take one of the ones upstairs.  “Can’t you do something with it?”  Well yes yes I can and did.  As you will see below this dresser has gone NY fabulous now.  J has always wanted a NYC theme in room.  I had seen a bunch of subway art themed re-vamps so decided I could something like that.  I picked some street names I knew she would know.  My mom has always taken her to NY to people watch.  It’s one of her favorite pass times.

Thrift Share Thursday no 17

Thrift Share Thursday no 17

It’s Thrift Share Thursday no 17.  I’m on a roll.  Still to hot here in the north east for me to shop outside.  I can’t wait for the garage sales in September.  The  fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  But for now I’m sharing some indoor buys from either one of my local Goodwill or Unique thrift shops.  Unique’s thrift shop holds 50% off sales on holiday’s but I will warn you it’s a mad house on holiday’s.  If you can make it there go end of the day believe I am saving you aggravation.  I tried in the am on the 4th of July and didn’t get a thing.  I went to two stores and the lines at both were out the door.  Crazy lol not for the faint of heart.
